Popular Participation in Local Governance(PPLG) Project

We worked with Ibis Ghana to implement the women in local governance project. The project sought to increase the number of women standing and winning elections in their electoral areas. We used radio campaigns and advocacy to encourage the electorate to elect women to the local assembly. Our efforts led to an increase in the number of women in the Builsa North Assembly from 2 to 8 representing a 400% increase in women’s representation in the Assembly of the Builsa District.
